Pembudayaan Matematika di Sekolah Untuk Mencapai Keunggulan Bangsa

Mathematics is a subject that is considered part of the students as a difficult subject to learn. Especially with students who are working the right brain is more dominant in their daily activities. With this assumption, then mathematics would be an obstacle in the process of learning for some students.

Mathematics itself has a very important object. Materials, mathematical objects including objects or concrete things in our environment, such as a picture or model cube, the symbol of colorful large or small, square-shaped pond, pyramid-shaped roof, and so on. Formally, the object of mathematical thought in the form of objects that are derived from concrete objects by doing an "idealization" and "abstract". Abstractions which can only take certain qualities to think or learn. Idealization that is considered the property that is perfect, as in the cube model made of teak wood, with the abstractions we only learn the shape and size alone. By idealizing then we get that the cube is a straight line. While normative, mathematical objects in the form of meaning contained in the objects and materials which will then produce a formal mathematical value.

Civilization mathematics through mathematical communication. Mathematical communication includes material communication of mathematics, formal communication of mathematics, normative communication of mathematics, and spiritual communication of mathematics.

Material communication of mathematics is the lowest dimension of communication. The number of potential units involved is also minimal when compared with other mathematical communication.

Formal communication of mathematics is dominated by the nature of the correlation out or into which has a difference of meaning between the property inside and outside that will determine the nature of the subject or the object of communication. Mathematics subjects with greater potential to maintain his vitality will remain as subjects, whereas subjects with a smaller potential vitality will shift itself as the subject becomes the object.

Normative communication dimension of mathematics has a higher potential for more units, more complex, and more widely. Correlation properties out or into it strong.

Spiritual communication of mathematics to accommodate all the existing communication and that may exist. There is no subject and object of spiritual communication communication of mathematics mathematics can be identified by connecting the vitality of the potential subject and object.

To be able to foster excellence in mathematics in school is necessary for the sake of the nation's understanding of mathematics itself, the properties of mathematics, mathematics teaching methods in schools, a variety of ways to give the mathematical sciences in schools, as well as the dimensions of communication mathematics that includes material communication mathematics, formal communication mathematics, normative communication mathematics, and spiritual communication mathematics.
